what is cold rolled steel coil?

The cold rolled steel coil is a type of cold rolled steel. It is different from the hot rolled steel coil.It refers to the steel strip which is directly rolled into a certain thickness by a roller and rolled into a whole roll by a winder at room temperature.

The cold rolled steel coils are manufactured from the hot rolled steel coils. The hot rolled coils are cleaned chemically and processed further in cold reduction mills, where the material is cooled (at room temperature) followed by annealing and/or tempers rolling. This process will produce steel with closer dimensional tolerances and a wider range of surface finishes. The thickness of the cold rolled plate is generally between 0.1--8.0mm, the thickness of the cold rolled plate produced by most factories is less than 4.5mm, the thickness and width of the cold rolled plate is determined according to the equipment capacity and market demand of each factory.

Cold rolling is to further roll the steel sheet to the target thickness at room temperature and below the recrystallization temperature.Compared with hot rolled steel plate, cold rolled steel plate thickness is more accurate, and the surface is smooth and beautiful. Cold rolling increases strength, enhances the surface finish and offers uniform thickness. To prevent thecold rolled steel coilsfrom rust, they are usually coated with thin layer of oil. Further coating of Zinc-Aluminium alloy or galvanization on the metal can be processed. Tianjin Tianzhongzhongzhi offer cold rolled coils in a range of international standard grades.
