Blooming mill--(1)

The blooming mill can be divided into the following types according to its structural form.

Two-roller reversible blooming mill

It can also be divided into billet roughing mill and square-slab mill. The mill size is expressed in terms of the nominal diameter of the rolls. The upper roll of the billet rolling mill has a small amount of rise, and the roll body is engraved with several rolling grooves, and a square or rectangular section steel ingot is used to roll into a billet, a rectangular billet, a profile billet or a round billet. In order to expand the variety and increase the production capacity, one or two sets of billet continuous rolling mills are often arranged behind the billet rolling mill to produce billet, tube blank, profiled billet and thin slab of smaller specifications. The square-slab roughing mill not only rolls the billet but also rolls the slab, and the production is relatively flexible. The roll body is engraved with flat rolling holes and vertical rolling holes, and the side edges are rolled by vertical rolling holes when rolling the slab. Due to the vertical rolling pass, the upper roller has a large lifting amount, which is also called a large opening degree rolling mill. After that, it is often followed by a 1-2 batch alternately arranged billet continuous rolling mill.

Universal slab rolling mill

It is a special slab rolling mill with two rolls in the horizontal direction and two vertical rolls in the vertical direction. Compared with the slab roughing mill with large opening degree, it does not need to be turned over during the initial rolling process, so the efficiency is high. In the case where the horizontal rolls have the same power, the rolling mill can reduce the rolling time by about 30% compared with the large opening mill, and has a good forging effect on the side of the rolled piece. The shape of the hole cut in the horizontal roll of the universal mill can also be used for rolling the bloom.
